Fibromyalgia

HCG’s work in Pain and Inflammation includes services for feasibility, recruitment, retention and site support, and spans numerous indications, including: Breast Pain, Cancer Pain, Fibromyalgia, Lower Back Pain, Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoarthritis, Postherpetic Neuralgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. HCG has found patients with non-cancer pain to have higher than average dissatisfaction with current treatments, sometimes leading to mistrust and skepticism toward traditional medicine. Additionally, non-cancer pain is frequently “invisible” to others, leaving patients feeling let down by those they look to for support, and increasingly isolated. Both of these factors make it more difficult for sponsors to rely on site databases for recruiting patients. HCG has successfully mounted media and community based outreach campaigns to help compensate for anticipated weaknesses in site enrollment.
