Moderate to Severe Alzheimer’s Disease
This Phase II study evaluated the study drug in parallel subject groups to see if it could maintain or improve memory, understanding, and the performance of subjects' everyday tasks.

Enrollment Goal:
246 patients from the U.S. and 26 countries spanning an 18-month recruitment period.

Challenges:
Higher than anticipated screen fail rates with over 100 concomitant medications disallowed. The study was trending 46% behind at the halfway point.

Strategy:
HCG developed an aggressive program of physician outreach, site support, and direct-to-patient media. HCG Site Relations fostered caregiver support at the site level, providing transportation and caregiver support aids.

Outcome:
HCG’s efforts tripled enrollment rates leading to the study meeting goals and closing recruitment 8.5 weeks early.
